Presentation Skills Training

Plan a clear presentation, engage your audience and practise delivering it with confidence.

A useful presentation starts with knowing what the audience needs to understand. Hawkeye Media helps individuals and small groups turn their knowledge into a structured explanation and develop a delivery style that supports it.

Whether you are new to public speaking, preparing an important pitch or refining a familiar presentation, we build the training around the occasion and your experience.

Discuss your presentation training needs

Build the presentation around the audience

We discuss who will be listening, what they already know and what you want them to take away. That helps you select the material, organise the argument and decide which examples deserve time.

Delegates can work on a presentation they already use or prepare for a forthcoming event. The session provides space to question the structure, test an opening and find a clearer route through the subject.

Make your structure support the message

Presentation skills training can help you:

  • Define a clear purpose and the main message.
  • Choose an opening that gives the audience a reason to listen.
  • Organise points in a sequence that is easy to follow.
  • Use language, examples and visual aids to aid understanding.
  • Bring the presentation to a purposeful close.
  • Prepare for questions and discussion.

The emphasis is on making useful choices for your actual audience. A concise briefing, a conference talk and a proposal presentation may need very different approaches.

Develop a delivery style that feels natural

We look at how voice, pace, posture and expression work alongside the content. Practice helps you recognise when you are rushing, losing emphasis or relying too heavily on notes.

Constructive feedback gives you specific things to work on. For a nervous presenter, that might mean finding a manageable opening and a steady pace. An experienced speaker may focus on sharper transitions, clearer emphasis or a more engaging explanation.

Recorded rehearsal and video analysis

Presentations are recorded and reviewed during training. Seeing and hearing a section of your delivery gives a practical basis for discussion, rather than relying only on how the presentation felt.

You can then apply the feedback in further rehearsal. This is useful when refining an existing talk: small changes to structure and delivery can be tested against the same material and the needs of the audience.

Use slides and questions purposefully

Visual aids should support what you are saying. We can explore how your PowerPoint slides or other material fit the explanation, where the audience needs a visual and where the spoken message needs more space.

We also practise responding to questions. That includes listening to what is being asked, organising the answer and dealing thoughtfully with a difficult challenge or a request for information you do not have to hand.

Training shaped around the occasion

We offer one-to-one and small-group presentation training, with the length and practical arrangements agreed around your objectives. Tell us about the event, the audience, any existing material and the date by which you need to be ready.

If your main requirement is answering a journalist’s questions, our media training may be the more relevant starting point. For a broadcast appearance, explore TV interview coaching.
