From reporting to presenting business news
Sally began her journalism career on local newspapers before moving into radio and television. Her television work included TV-am, Border Television, LWT, Meridian and GMTV, where she spent three years as North America correspondent.
At BBC World Television she presented business news and anchored World Business Report for an international audience. Explaining business stories on air required clear language, a grasp of the subject and an awareness of what listeners and viewers needed to know.
Media interviews, messaging and facilitation
Sally’s areas of work also include media training and crisis communication, helping people prepare what they need to explain and how to respond to questioning. She has worked privately with senior executives on their communication and business skills.
Her background includes Master Practitioner training in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP). Her wider communications work combines coaching, messaging and facilitation around the needs of the people taking part.

Presentation coaching with an audience focus
Sally’s coaching work helps people consider both the content of a presentation and the way it is delivered. A useful starting point is the audience: what they already understand, what they need from the speaker and which points deserve their attention.
Preparation can then examine the structure of the explanation, the examples that support it and how the speaker handles questions. Rehearsal creates a chance to notice where the message becomes clear and where the delivery needs further work.

Experience across organisations and events
Sally’s client experience includes ING Bank, Pets at Home, Kier, QinetiQ and the NHS, as well as work for Roche Diagnostics and Allianz Global Investors. She also contributed to training for the Games Makers volunteering at the London 2012 Olympics.
